FAQ

What are phthalates?

Phthalates are a group of chemical compounds often used in the production of plastics to make them more flexible and durable. In fragrances, phthalates are sometimes added to help the scent last longer. However, phthalates have been linked to potential health concerns, such as hormonal disruption, reproductive issues, and other long-term health effects. For this reason, they have raised concerns in both personal care and household products.

We choose to use phthalate-free fragrance oils in our candles and sprays to ensure a safer, healthier experience for you and your home. Our commitment to clean ingredients means you can enjoy our scents without worrying about exposure to harmful chemicals.

Are your candles safe and non-toxic?

Yes! Our candles are crafted using candle safe, certified clean scents and natural waxes. We use a coconut soy wax blend, which ensures a clean, safe burn without releasing harmful chemicals into the air. All of our fragrance oils are phthalate-free, meaning they don’t contain harmful additives, and our cotton wicks are lead-free for added safety.

Our candles are designed to provide a safe, enjoyable experience for you and your loved ones while being environmentally conscious.

Why coconut and soy wax?

We chose a coconut soy wax blend for our candles because of its natural, eco-friendly properties and superior performance. Coconut wax is made from the meat of coconuts, a sustainable and renewable source, while soy wax is derived
from soybeans, which are also renewable and biodegradable. Together, they create a cleaner, longer-lasting burn with minimal soot and smoke.

This blend also has an exceptional scent throw, meaning your favorite
fragrances will fill the room beautifully. Additionally, coconut soy wax has a lower melting point, which allows our candles to burn slower and evenly, giving you more time to enjoy them!

What are the ingredients in the fine mist spray?

Our fine mist spray contains the following carefully selected ingredients:

  • Purified Water: This is the base of our mist, used to dilute the fragrance and create a lightweight, refreshing spray that won’t leave any residue.
  • Polysorbate-20: A gentle emulsifier that helps blend the fragrance oil with water, ensuring a consistent spray without separation.
  • Disodium EDTA: This is a stabilizer that binds to minerals in the water, preventing them from affecting the quality of the spray and helping preserve its freshness over time.
  • DMDM Hydantoin: A preservative that ensures the spray remains safe and free from microbial growth, extending its shelf life without compromising quality.
  • Fragrance Oil: Our carefully chosen fragrance oils give the mist its delightful scent. They are phthalate-free and safe to use around your home and linens.

Each ingredient plays a crucial role in ensuring that our fine mist spray is safe, long-lasting, and provides a consistently pleasant experience.

Do I really need to trim my candle wicks?

Yes, trimming your candle wick is an essential step for a cleaner and safer burn. When the wick is too long, it can lead to an uneven burn, excessive soot, and even a larger, more unstable flame that can pose a safety hazard. Trimming the wick helps control the flame, allowing the candle to burn more efficiently and last longer.

How to trim the wick:
Before lighting your candle, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6 mm). You can use a wick trimmer, scissors, or even nail clippers to cut it down. Make sure the candle has completely cooled before trimming the wick, and remove any debris to prevent it from falling into the wax.

By trimming the wick regularly, you’ll enjoy a cleaner, safer burn and get the most out of your candle’s lifespan.

What is the difference between candles and wax melts?

Differences Between Candles and Wax Melts

The main difference between candles and wax melts is how they are used. Candles come with a wick and require an open flame to burn, while wax melts are wickless pieces of scented wax that need to be heated in a wax warmer to release their fragrance.

Benefits of Candles

  • Atmosphere: Candles provide both fragrance and ambiance through the soft glow of the flame, making them perfect for creating a cozy or romantic setting.
  • Decorative: With a variety of shapes, colors, and styles, candles can enhance the decor of any room.
  • Portable: Candles can be easily moved and used in various spaces, requiring no additional equipment aside from a lighter.

Benefits of Wax Melts

  • Flameless: Wax melts don’t require a flame, which makes them safer to use in homes with pets or small children.
  • Long-lasting scent: Since wax melts don’t burn away like candles, they can provide fragrance for a longer duration. The wax simply evaporates its scent and can be reheated multiple times.
  • Stronger scent throw: Because they are heated at a lower, steady temperature in a warmer, wax melts often release a stronger fragrance, quickly filling larger spaces.

Both candles and wax melts are great options for adding fragrance to your home, depending on the experience you're looking for.
